March 8, 9 and 10 at Waimanalo Beach Park
It's that time of year again! When kids of all ages flock to Waimanalo Beach Park to experience the wild and exciting rides of E.K. Fernandez, and test their skills at the game booths. The popcorn! The cotton candy! The cheers! The fun!
Each year the Friends of Waimanalo put on the Carnival. The proceeds go to helping out a number of good causes in the community. This past year the Friends have supported athletic programs, the schools and the seniors. They helped send our state champion Bobby Sox baseball team to the national championships in San Diego. The Friends purchased an air conditioner for the 2nd and 3rd grade classrooms of Waimanalo School. They have provided silk-screen and embroidery equipment so Waimanalo students could express their creativity and produce practical products. With the assistance of the Friends, Pope School was able to make its library system compatible with the State Library. For over ten years the Friends has made the Reading is FUNdamental program a possibility. Over the years, the Friends of Waimanalo has supported the seniors group at the District Park, who each year organize and host a Halloween costume contest and a Christmas pageant.
So come out to the Carnival and know that while having a good time you will also be helping good causes right here in the community.
The Carnival will be at the Waimanalo Beach Park March 8, 9 and 10. Friday from 6 pm to Midnight, Saturday 11:30 am to Midnight, and Sunday 11:30 am to 6:00 pm.
